Jakarta Local Government Saves Energy the Fun Way

19-September-2011
  • The training started with reasons behind energy efficiency.
  • Guess The Numbers game invited participants to learn about energy saving. One of the questions was "How many years left of Indonesian oil reserves?"
  • An energy efficient building can increase productivity up to 26%.
  • Teams were competing to come up with the most energy saving ideas.
  • Happy faces from the winning team who receives merchandises from EECCHI.

With the Presidential Instruction No. 2 of 2008 on Saving Energy and Water, instructing all government agencies to save energy, each agency is required to create a Task Force on Energy and Water Saving. The Task Force is tasked to monitor energy use and ensure that energy efficient practices and behaviors become a habit in the organization. EECCHI was invited to help the team from the Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, to train candidates for the Task Force on Energy and Water Saving from several departments within the Local Government of DKI Jakarta. The training lasted for 4 hours and was comprised of sessions from "The Importance of Energy Saving" until the session on "How to Become Energy Efficient through Behavior Change."

Done in a really fun way through our "Energy Efficiency Short Course", we hope that the Task Force on Energy and Water Saving of the Local Government of DKI Jakarta got inspired to socialize energy saving in attractive ways so they can motivate other employees to save energy.
